Soothe those achy and tired muscles
Whew, I did not have the opportunity or should I say I did not MAKE the opportunity to exercise during the week, Instead I put some massive hours in at work, but end of month is always that way.
I did get 34 minutes in on the treadmill, with thoughts of my body someday looking like the picture above, not sure that is possible but I am working towards a healthier life. Just wish I would have started this many years ago. You see being out of shape, I would exercise, and then the ache, it would be there, then after sitting a while the ache was REALLY there. But it was the day after the day after that I could barely move.
Now as I've aged I found that using the magnesium before and after exercise is a massive help. Since I was doing the treadmill this morning, I used the Magnesium plus stick on my hip all the way down to my knee where I have the most discomfort.! (I use the blue one - the Magnesium Plus Stick.
Afterwards I just rubbed the Peppermint Magnesium Lotion to the areas I know that will have the most achy.
This is my TREADMILL routine, everyone does it a little differently, I have a different routine that I follow depending on the type of exercise that I am doing.
What is your favorite exercise routine?

Have you read the labels on your Skin Care Products.
Jordan Essentials
No No List!
Many of us have started reading the Content Labels on the food that we buy, but have you looked at the labels for your skincare products? What about your makeup? Hair Care? I've become a label reader, what about you?
The cornerstone for all Jordan Essentials products is non-toxic
bath and body products that support our trademark motto of “Healthy Skin,
Healthy Life.” One way we accomplish this is by using only the best
possible ingredients with an emphasis on those that were made by God and not by
a scientist in a laboratory. Pure ingredients generally mean better
absorption, better assimilation by the body, and better results. This is one of
the many things that sets Jordan Essentials apart from many other Bath &
Body, Skincare, Haircare, Essential Oils, and Mineral Makeup choices on the
market.
When searching for the
right products to use for yourself and for your loved ones, being a
knowledgeable consumer is so important. Just because a product is
marketed as “natural” does not necessarily make it healthy, effective, or good
for you. After all, products such as arsenic, petroleum, and baking soda are
all technically “natural” but that doesn’t mean you want to be adding them to
products you will be using on your skin or hair! Also, many products that
claim to be “all natural” also mean they may not have sufficient “preserving”
power. I don’t know about you, but we at Jordan Essentials don’t love the idea
of putting products that may harbor mold or bacteria on our bodies either. We
are often asked if our products are “All Natural”, and we proudly respond with,
“no, they are not...because we only make products that are quality, healthy,
nontoxic, and long-lasting.”
To find
the perfect balance,
Jordan Essentials carefully selects all ingredients to be
certified and tested by third parties to be completely nontoxic and effective.
The focus in our products is on ingredients that are primarily made by
God and that have proven benefits to the skin, hair, body, and health. This may
include essential oils, herbs, teas, salts, plant-based extracted oils, and
hydrosols. To keep our products fresh and to make sure the beneficial
qualities are carried to your skin, Jordan Essentials will use some man-made
ingredients. Any ingredient will only be added if we are completely confident
that it is non-toxic. However, we like to say our products are good not only by
what we put in them, but by what we DON’T! We call it our No No List.
The No No List is a list of ingredients found to be toxic and
harmful to the body yet all too often found in many products on the market.
No No List ingredients include Parabens, Aluminum, SLS (Sodium Laureth
Sulfates), Petroleum-based ingredients, Isopropyl alcohol, Mineral Oils, or
Gluten-based substances.
Why not choose products
you can use with complete confidence because when you look at the label you
recognize and can pronounce what is included, knowing you’re using only the
best? But the true test is in the results! Using God-made ingredients,
designed to support Healthy Skin and a Healthy Life, means they WORK! So choose
Jordan Essentials as your trusted source for Bath and Body products, Hair Care,
Skin Care, Makeup, and Essential Oils.

Exercise those Shoulders
This looks like something that is easy enough to do - can't wait to give it a try.
Single Arm Lateral Raises with Band
Starting PositionHold the left handle in your left hand. Place other side of resistance band on the floor and stand on it with feet hip-width apart. Stand tall with back straight, abs engaged, left arm at your side, palm facing inward, and right hand on your hip.ActionEXHALE: Keeping left arm straight, slowly lift your arm up to shoulder height.
INHALE: Slowly return back down to the start position to complete one rep.
Finish set on this side and then switch sides.
Special InstructionsDo not lean back or to the sides as you lift your arm. Keep arm straight, but not locked. Keep wrist in line with the forearm-- not bent up or down. Make it easier: Stand closer to the handle on the floor to decrease resistance. Make it harder: Stand closer to the handle you’re holding to increase resistance. Stand with legs closer together for more core challenge.

Putting your best face forward in the Heat of Summer!
WHEW! It's been hot here in Houston. Can not begin to count the number of 100+ days that we have had, combined with our humidity -- I can only say THANK YOU for air conditioning. But we're not alone as August is one of the hottest months of the year across the country. I keep thinking remain calm, summer is almost over and cooler weather is just around the corner.
Personally August is one of the toughest months on my face. Going back and forth from the Air Conditioned office to the NOT air conditioned warehouse. Outside yard work, evenings on the back porch swing, walking the dogs and taking nature pictures all stress out my face and lips
I've been reading up on what some of the experts are saying to keep your face looks FRESH throughout the "dog days of summer" (a term I only remember my grandmother using).
— Set your face up for success. Before you even pick up a brush or palette, Cassandra McClure, celebrity makeup artist and host of the “Clean Beauty” podcast recommends cleansing and exfoliating your face. “It’s going to make your skin look brighter, tighter, get rid of fine lines and wrinkles … so that your skin can grab onto the next step which is your serum and then moisturizer,” McClure says
Washing my face after getting all sweaty with the Jordan Essentials Cucumber Spa Polish give me such as amazingly clean feeling!
“Another great product to use when it’s hot is a toner,” says Liz Jeneault, a beauty influencer and the vice president of marketing at Faveable. “We often expose ourselves to too much sun during the summer, which can leave our skin looking uneven and red. A toner doesn’t just help even out the look of your skin, but also makes it easier to apply your foundation.”
Using our toner after cleansing just feels good. If' I'm going to be outside a lot, I even drop it into the bag, because it will help take the burn out of Sunburn!

Are you making the Change to a Non Toxic Deodorant? Then this is a must read!
Do you read cautions and warning about ingredients? Do you flip
over a bottle faster than John Wayne draws a gun? Maybe you just feel guilty
but do not know why or really want to put that much energy into being nontoxic.
There is a simple
solution! Essential Oils!
5 powerful Essentials
Oils blend in ancient formula to ward off the plague and sometimes your pit
odor is that plague!
Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon,
Rosemary, and Eucalyptus to the rescue.
Arm pits can be more
sensitive than your Great Aunt Simone at Christmas dinner. Sensitive under-arms
need TLC, and that doesn’t mean using harmful deodorants that contain toxins
like parabens or aluminum! Jordan Essentials Deodorants are a safer
alternative...and coupled with our Spritz Your Pits Spray, those odors just
don’t stand a chance!
So take the Spritz Your
Pits Challenge and experience the difference Jordan Essentials can make in your
freshness...without the toxic chemicals!
Follow
the steps below for two weeks and then comment below with your results.
We know you’ll love the difference!
1.
Cleanse with Jordan Essentials Shower Gelor one of our other amazing soaps.
2.
When you get out of the shower, dry off completely, then spritz
the underarms with Jordan Essentials Spritz Your Pits Spray.
3.
Allow the spray to dry, then follow up with your favorite Jordan Essentials Deodorant
(optional step, depending on your needs).
4.
In most cases, reapplication won’t be necessary. If you feel in
need of a little “boost”, add another spritz of Spritz Your Pits Spray or
Deodorant. If you are still experiencing odor, use Jordan Essentials PurifyingCharcoal Mask or Jordan Essentials Charcoal Soap while showering for
a deeper “detox” of the pits.
How does this work so
well? Spritz Your Pits Spray contains powerful essential oils that are
anti-bacterial, and bacteria is the leading cause of pit odor as your body
naturally flushes toxins through the lymph system and sweat.
Leave your comment below
with the results of your challenge. What products did you use and what
did you like best?

5 Ways to Destress Your Life!
YES! STRESS is real:
Stress in humans results from interactions between persons and their environment that are perceived as straining or exceeding their adaptive capacities and threatening their well being. The element of perception indicates that human stress responses reflect differences in personality, as well as differences in physical strength or general health.
Risk factors for stress-related illnesses are a mix of personal, interpersonal, and social variables. These factors include lack or loss of control over one's physical environment, and lack or loss of social support networks. People who are dependent on others (e.g.children or the elderly) . . . . from the Free Dictionary by Farlex
We all experience STRESS at one time or another and sometimes more than other times, and personally I am no different..
I have to tell you the past few months have been really stressful for me. We're in a super growth mode at work, and I was experiencing some health issues which just complicated the stress. I know for many of you the transition from Kids home for the summer mode to back to school can move you to knew levels of stress.
Here are 5 quick and easy tips that can help you to destress your life.
- Take a Hot Bath - Pour Jordan Essentials Dead Sea Salt Magnesium Soak into a fub full of hot water and enjoy the calming effect of Magnesium. ( I love adding a couple drops of Essential Oil to the tub too, depending on what I'm in the mood for)
- Meditate - Find a comfortable spot, close your eyes, and relax as you focus on releasing your worries. Even 10 minutes of meditation can clear your mind!
- Exercise Daily - Taking a job doesn't just help with physical health, it can also release endorphins and reduce stress, especially when done on a regular basis.
- Indulge - Serotonin, the chemical responsible for calm and relaxation, may be boosted through certain foods. This means the occasional sweet treat could help add some sunshine to your day. So go ahead, enjoy a cookie or two
- Get a Massage - Getting a massage can reduce your stress and tension. Besides, who doesn't want to be pampered? (I am one who seems to only make time for a massage while we are on vacation - however a foot massage from hubby is a big help too)

Just Start
I was asked the other day to share my favorite quotation. While I LOVE quotes, hand down JUST START is my favorite! I even have it framed on my desk in a glitzy frame to remind me not to move that task that I just don't want to do, to the bottom of the stack!
Yes I do have those tasks that I'm dreading, I those task that I dread, usually the ones that require research into old files are time consuming. Actually I find that for me doing these daunting tasks are best early in the AM or after everyone else has left the office.
What are some of your favorite quotes, I would love to hear them.

Who Loves Cucumbers! You need to try this.
Over and over again I read that Cucumbers are healthy for you, especially if you're trying to eat healthier and loose some of that extra weight.
Of course the picture drew me in, as I love Cherry Tomatoes and Cucumbers and who can say NO to cream cheese? I was hooked. I will be making these for the next family gathering and my next Jordan Essentials team event (will exchange with Lite cream cheese) - think that they're going to be a hit!
INGREDIENTS
- Slice cucumbers into rounds, about ½-inch thick. You can leave the skin on, peel them, or partially peel them for a striped look. Slice grape tomatoes in half (or quarters, if large) and set aside.
- In a bowl, combine cream cheese, Greek yogurt, dill and Ranch dressing powder. Mix thoroughly. You can use an electric mixer, but you can also do this by hand.
- Transfer the cheese mixture to a piping bag (if you don’t have one, you can use a large Ziplock bag with a corner snipped off).
- Pipe the cheese mixture onto the cucumber rounds, then top with a cherry tomato half!

What get’s you through your exercise routine?
I have to admit, I have to talk myself into exercising. But I have made a pact with hubby that we will hold each other accountable - on the weekends we can work exercise into our schedule. It works for us (even if he is loosing weight a lot faster then me). This exercise pact is part of our journey to a healthier lifestyle and focus on wellness.
While I am being honest here I have to have help getting through my exercise. If I am playing my music it has to be fast and upbeat, it gets me through on the treadmill. But it is a tough push when I am on the recumbent bike. Given my hip problems I experience foot and leg cramps. So I spray those areas with my magnesium spray before starting. But I found that I can keep going by multi-tasking, like a true Gemini, I find that watching training videos really helps me push through, and even make it past my planned 30 minutes!
What do you do to get through your exercise routine?

Face Care Friday - Foundations
We've always been told that Foundation is the basic of good skin care. Every girl likes to use the foundation to make the face beautiful. But it can lead to acne on the face, or constant itching because of the fillers that are added. But that doesn't mean you just stop using makeup products. Keep an eye on content in your foundations. Whenever you go to buy such things, learn a few things about them.
* Artificial Color - Artificial colors in your cosmetics can irritate your face and cause acne beyond that. See F and C in the content on the foundation labels to see if it contains the color.
* Lanolin - If your skin is oily, do not apply a foundation that contains lanolin as it can cause you acne. Well, it can be used on dry skin. So if you have dry skin, you don't need to be afraid of such a foundation.
* Mineral Oil - Avoid any foundation that uses mineral oil. It forms a layer on your skin and does not allow bacteria and dead skin cells to get out of the mouth.
* Isopropyl myristate - This element may not only make your skin look sticky but also turn off your pores. This can increase the skin's acne and cause irritation.
Personally I used the Jordan Essentials Tinted Moisturizer on my face, since it's mineral based it also offers a natural SPF protection.. Love that there are no fillers so I do not get that itchy feeling. Just put onto my Kubiki brush and blend! Quick and easy especially for a person like me that wants to spend as little time as possible at 5 am in the morning!

Light up your life with Lemon Essential Oil
Do you think sour face when you think lemon? Maybe someone
handed you one and you took a bite and never forgot that feeling of sour
hitting the tongue.
Well this is not that
lemon!
Lemon Essential Oil is so
much more than that.
Pure, therapeutic-grade
lemon essential oils to use aromatically or combined with other essential oils
or bases can really light up your life!
Lemon
Essential Oil can be found in both concentrated Droppers, and in the convenient
Lemon Essential Oil Spray, which is perfectly diluted for use as a body spray
or room spray.
You will want cold pressed from the peel of the Citrus limon
plant, which often grows as a shrub or tree. It takes about 50 lemons to
create enough essential oil for each bottle of Essential Oil, making each drop
very concentrated and aromatic. Do not use Lemon Essential Oils in water or to
drink, ever. Really. That is what one or two whole lemon fruit is for!
Lemon Essential Oil is
well known for its sass up your day and feel better uplifting qualities, and is
often used to help support the immune system, ward off fatigue, and boost
emotions. Lemon Essential Oil has also been found to help reduce feelings
of nausea when used aromatically.
Lemon is a powerful
cleanser, too. Lemon Essential Oil can be used to effectively and easily
remove gummy residue off personal items, such as when trying to remove price
tags off new purchases. Use Lemon Essential Oil Spray to refresh trash
cans, gym bags, or areas that need purifying and freshening. Lemon Essential
Oil also works great added to your natural household cleaners and laundry
detergent.
Several scientific
studies show many benefits of Lemon Essential Oil to the skin due to their
antioxidant, antimicrobial, and antiseptic qualities. (Reference) Keep in mind, however, that
Lemon Essential Oil can create photosensitivity in sensitive skin, which means
it is recommended to avoid any sun exposure after applying diluted Lemon
Essential Oil to the skin. Always dilute essential oils and never ingest.
Quick
Tip! Got Cats?
Add 5-7 drops of JE Eucalyptus Essential Oil to a bottle of JELemon Essential Oil Spray for a delightful aroma combination that also works
well to deter cats. Spritz areas you want your cats to avoid such as rugs or
furniture they may have been using as scratching posts. During the summer
months, this also works well in the garden to keep cats and pests away from
plants and herbs.
Try Jordan Essentials
Pure Cold Processes Lemon Essential Oil. Combine with other Jordan Essential
Products such as JE Skin Relief, Unscented Hand & Body Lotion, Unscented
Salt Scrubs, and Shea Body Butters.
